There are several reasons: 1) Passive prevention. Simply because this is a good time and place to note the details about your bike. If you lose your bike, unlike >90% of unprepared bikers, you'll have the most important information at hand - and thus a chance of getting your bike back. 2) Quick reaction. It takes police up to 10 days to process your stolen bike report. We publish the information immediately and even help you with the police report. 3) Active search. Most importantly, every bike marked as missing or stolen is on our search list, and we actively search for it everywhere we go. For free.
I don't own the bike I registered anymore. What should do?
Just let us know you sold/gave your bike to someone, ideally also the name or email address of the new owner, and we'll take care of the ownership transfer.
